Wonderful Wundergarden

Ach ist das schön: Seit heute können auch meine Illustrationen bei "Wundergarden" blühen und gedeihen, eine Illustratorenrepräsentanz vor allem für den englischsprachigen Raum, gegründet von Maria Bogade.

Willkommen FRED!

Und weil es grad so schön ist: Endlich Sommer - hä, wo denn? Hier regnet es gefühlt seid Tagen?? - endlich JULI und endlich darf ich ein weiteres Baby in meinen Armen halten: "Freds sensationelle Spinnereien"
Geschrieben vom wunderbaren Christian Seltmann (es ist eine Freude, kann ich nur sagen, ich hab mich schon beim zeichnen weggeworfen) durfte ich mich die letzten Monate austoben und herausgekommen ist ein witziger, fantasievoller und leicht durchgeknallter Roman für Jungs (und natürlich auch Mädels) ab 9 Jahren mit vielen Illus und Kritzeleien.
Um was es genau geht, konnte nicht schöner beschrieben werden als auf der Arena Webseite, von der man auch eine Leseprobe herunterladen kann. Also schaut doch mal rein und am besten kauft das Buch, z.B. hier oder auch erhältlich in allen Buchhandlungen.
Kleine Einblicke ins Buch poste ich auch die nächsten Tage, also bleibt dran. ;-)


Because good things shouldn't end too soon: Finally summer - eh, where? Seems it's raining all the time lately?? - finally JULY and finally I may hold another baby in my arms: "Freds sensationelle Spinnereien".
Written by wonderful Christian Seltmann (it's a real joy reading it, while drawing I completely fell for it) I could let off steam the last months and out came a funny, imaginative and slightly manic novel for boys (and of course also girls), age 9, with lots of illustrations and scribbles. 
For english readers my short summary: It is about Fred M. Hansen, a normal boy with rich parents. His drifting into dreams and fantasy worlds is really sensational. Quite weird it gets when he has to move to Berlin. Here he dreams of winning the heart of a girl and making new friends. But everything is more complicated as he thinks and with Molitor his fantasy compagnion which him he searches for alien secrets in the egyptian desert he tries to solve all the secrets which lie in front of him. 
On the Arena Website there is an extract of the book. So get a look or best buy it for example here or in german book stores. 
I will also post some more insights of the book the next days, so stay tuned! ;-)

Nevio, Blick ins Buch - 3

Puuh, das war ein anstrengender Tag! Nevio hat so viel erlebt, ist sogar mitten auf dem See auf seinem Floß nicht mehr weitergekommen. Zum Glück hatte er doch gute Freunde, die ihm aus der misslichen Lage halfen und abends sogar ein Stück Nusskuchen servierten. Sehr gemütlich ist es in Deiner Baumhöhle, Eichhörnchen Busche!

So, und mehr wird nicht verraten, jetzt müsst Ihr Euch das ganze Buch besorgen! ;-)
Um Euch noch ein wenig mehr zu motivieren habe ich hier eine frische und wunderbare Rezension von der "Buchhexe", über die ich ganz glücklich bin.



Phew, what an exhausting day! Nevio experienced so much and even couldn't get further with his raft on the lake. Fortunately he had good friends who helped him out and even served him a nice peace of nut cake in the evening. You got a really cosy place up in your tree house, squirrel Busche!

Well, this is all I will reveal, now you have to get the whole book! ;-)
And to help you with your decision a bit more there is a really nice recension of the "Buchhexe" which makes me very happy, indeed. (here you find the google translation. Quite funny at some parts, but you get an impression ;-)) Thank you for the tip, Buchhexe!

Nevio, Blick ins Buch - 2

Nevio hat mittlerweile Kritta die Erfinderkrähe kennen gelernt und durfte mit Erik zu ihr hoch in ihre Baumwerkstatt fahren. Dort tüfteln die drei jetzt an einem neuen Fortbewegungsmittel für Nevio. Was es wohl sein wird? ;-)


Meanwhile Nevio met Kritta the inventor crow and with Erik he came up to her workshop tree. There the three are fiddling about a new transport option for Nevio. What could that be? ;-)

Nevio, Blick ins Buch - 1

PLAUZ! Rucksack kaputt, harte Landung am Ufer des Sees, was nun?
Nevio ist ziemlich aufgeregt, es muss ja schließlich weitergehen mit den Abenteuern. Gott sei Dank lernt er gerade Erik, die Ente kennen, die ihm vielleicht einen guten Tipp geben kann.
Wie es weiter geht? Kann ich natürlich nicht verraten! ;-) Aber spannend ist die Geschichte allemal.
Die nächsten Tage gibt es mehr zu sehen aus meinem neuen Buch "Nevio, die furchtlose Forschermaus", schaut doch mal vorbei.


Bang! Backpack broken, hard landing at the shore of the lake, what next?
Nevio is quite agitated, after all the adventure has to go on! Thanks god he just met Erik, the duck, who maybe can give him a few tips. 
How the story continues? Well this I cannot reveal completely! ;-) But it is of course exciting. The next days I will show more of my new book "Nevio, the fearless explorer mouse", just drop by if you like. 

Nevio, die furchtlose Forschermaus

Endlich Sommer! Endlich Juni! Denn jetzt, endlich, erscheint mein erstes Buch beim Arena Verlag, von dem ich schon letztes Weihnachten erzählt habe:
"Nevio, die furchtlose Forschermaus" von Matthias von Bornstädt.
Es hat grosse Freude gemacht, diese supersüße und lustige Geschichte über diesen liebenswerten Mäuserich zu illustrieren, dessen Raketenrucksack streikt und er mit Getöse in einem Park mitten in einer Stadt landet. Von dort will er natürlich wieder weiter, Abenteuer erleben, nur braucht er dazu ein neues Gefährt und die Parktiere helfen ihm dabei.
Mit vielen Sachinformationen über Autos, Schiffe und Flugzeuge können Kinder ab 4 Jahre in Nevios Welt eintauchen und zusätzlich gibt es sogar eine Audio-CD dazu.

Finally summer! Finally June! Because now, finally, my new book for the publisher Arena is out, I talked about it last Christmas:
"Nevio, the fearless explorer mouse" (my translation of the german title, the book is only available in german by now), written by Matthias von Bornstädt.
It was a lot of fun illustrating this super cute and funny story about this loveable mouse whose rocket backpack malfunctions and causes a crash in a city park. Nevio of course wants to go on for other adventures but he needs another vehicle and so the animals of the park are helping him. 
With lots of factual informations about cars, ships and planes children from 4 years on can dive into Nevio's world and there is also an audio-cd with the book. 
You can buy it in all bookstores in germany or also for example here. 

Neuer Verlag Ahoi!

Gestern bekam ich schöne Post: Der Vorschaukatalog des niegelnagelneu entstandenen Kinderbuchverlages mit dem schönen Namen Magellan und dem noch schöneren Logo, einem Wal.
Und was am allerschönsten daran ist: Ich darf dabei sein, in See zu stechen!
Und zwar mit einem grossen Pappebilderbuch für Kinder ab 2 Jahren, zu kaufen ab diesem September, in dem es um einen Weihnachtsmann geht, der mit seinem Kumpel Rudi in den Nachthimmel lossausen will, um alle Kinder zu bescheren und feststellt, dass er alle Geschenke noch zu Hause vergessen hat. Also ab zurück und das ganze Haus mit Hilfe der Engelchen und der Weihnachtsmaus durchsuchen. Irgendwo sind die doch alle! Und zwar nett versteckt hinter 24 Klappen.
Ja, jetzt ist natürlich erst mal Sommer und Weihnachten liegt noch fern, aber so ist das, wenn man Illustrator ist - in der größten Hitze zeichnet man Weihnachtsbäume und in der ärgsten Kälte Leute im Bikini.
Ich sage Euch also dann rechtzeitig noch mal Bescheid, wenn es so weit ist, sich um Weihnachtsgeschenke Sorgen zu machen.

Yesterday I got beautiful Mail: The preview catalog of the brandnew publisher with the beautiful name "Magellan" and the even more beautiful logo, a whale. 
And what is most beautiful: I am part of the crew!
I illustrated a christmas story for children from 2 years on you can buy from this september on. Father Christmas who is already on the sky road with Rudi, his pal, to deliver the presents for all the children, when he realizes that he forgot them all in his house! So he returns and starts to look for them, the little angels and the christmas mouse all helping him. And they are all hidden behind 24 windows you can open. 
Well, now is summer and christmas is far away, but that's how it is when you are an illustrator - in the biggest heat you draw christmas trees and in the fearcest cold people in bikinis.
So I will tell you again just in time when you have to start worrying about christmas presents.
